THE LONDON HOUSEBOAT
LIVE DIFFERENTLY
The London Houseboat is a unique place to stay when visiting London. The boat sits on one of the best moorings within Limehouse Marina, just down the River Thames from Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The boat, custom-built in Liverpool in 2023, is designed with every comfort in mind, including two double bedrooms, a luxuriously equipped bathroom with freestanding bath and rainforest shower, a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, and an open plan living area with a smart TV and super fast broadband. There are radiators throughout the boat making it a warm and comfortable home all year round.

THE SPACE
You enter the boat at the stern where there is a wooden semi-circular dining table which comfortably seats six people, with beautiful views out across the whole marina. Hanging overhead is an infra-red lamp, providing evening light and heating for those cooler days and nights, making this canvas covered area useable throughout the year.

Descending down three internal steps, you arrive into a very spacious open-plan living area. Here you will find a comfortable corner sofa facing the wall-mounted, 43” smart TV with content streaming services available, supported by the super fast broadband (available throughout the boat). There is a small library of books here (including guide books about London) and a desk for anyone who needs to work from home while onboard.

The kitchen and marble-topped island are spectacular features of the open plan living area, incorporating a breakfast bar with four stools. This is a kitchen which any chef will be happy to work from and includes a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, integrated oven/microwave/grill, large fridge and separate freezer. Every possible piece of kitchen equipment is included to allow you to prepare meals on board or simply to be confident of your wine being chilled at just the right temperature (there is a separate wine fridge which holds up to 10 bottles)

The corridor leading off the open plan living area is lined with artwork and prints from around the world. The first room that you come to is the compact, smaller second bedroom with a luxurious double bed with blue velvet headboard. This second bedroom also contains an open wardrobe with hanging and storage space for your clothes and shoes.

The next door along the corridor leads to the very well appointed bathroom. There is a generously sized freestanding bath which sits on a raised platform with grey slate flooring, a separate shower unit with a rainforest shower head, basin, and WC. There is a second door from the bathroom which connects to the main bedroom.

The main bedroom feels indulgent and spacious with a king size bed and a beautiful deep green velvet headboard. Both beds on the boat are fitted with mattress toppers and electric blankets; all linen and towels are provided by a company which services London’s premier hotels. There is also a dressing room space within the main bedroom with plenty of railings and drawers for all of your clothing, shoes, and other personal items.

There are double doors from the main bedroom which open onto a very private outdoor patio space at the bow of the boat, complete with planting, two comfortable chairs and a small table for your morning cup of coffee or an evening drink. This magical outdoor area offers wide-reaching views across the water, with the gentle pace of life within the marina playing out directly in front of you.

THE LOCATION
The mooring of the houseboat is arguably the most favourable in the whole of the Limehouse Marina, positioned in a totally private location with only one neighbour to the stern of the boat. It is a quiet haven in this global city, yet within easy reach of all of London’s attractions. The nearest station is Limehouse (Docklands Light Railway) which is 5 minutes’ walk from the houseboat. From Limehouse station, you can reach iconic London tourist attractions with ease, including the Tower of London and Tower Bridge in 5 minutes or Borough Market at London Bridge in under 15 minutes.
Limehouse is an enchanting, diverse neighbourhood which has developed over the centuries along the northern banks of the River Thames. Within just a few minutes’ walk of the boat, there are two wonderful local pubs/restaurants: The Bread Street Kitchen is an affordable Gordon Ramsay restaurant with a beautiful conservatory looking out across the water and is a close neighbour to The Grapes, an atmospheric and historic London pub with a beguiling wooden roof terrace overhanging the river (the pub’s owner, the widely celebrated actor Sir Ian McKellen, lives right next door)
